Cultivating Conservation Through Community Fishing

In 2025, the Mobile County Wildlife and Conservation Association (MCWCA) proudly partnered with the City of Mobile Parks and Recreation to launch the Tricentennial Park/Day Lake Fish Stocking Program—a community-driven initiative designed to enrich local fishing experiences and inspire environmental stewardship.

Why We Stock

At MCWCA, we believe fishing is for everyone, but catching fish is what turns interest into passion. And passionate fishermen often become the strongest advocates for conservation. By creating accessible and rewarding fishing experiences, we aim to grow the next generation of conservationists who understand and value our natural resources.

About Day Lake:
Nestled on the north side of 3 Mile Creek in the heart of Tricentennial Park, Day Lake is a scenic 4-acre pond that offers easy access for families, individuals, and anglers of all skill levels. This prime location was chosen to foster greater community engagement and provide a welcoming environment for outdoor recreation.

Stocking Highlights:
In May 2025, we stocked Day Lake with:

  • 600 catfish (10–12 inches)
  • 500 bream
  • 40 grass carp

This effort not only boosts fish populations but also ensures quality fishing opportunities that keep locals coming back for more.
